To our Thor’s Trees community,
I am sure you are extremely concerned about the current crisis, which is why I am writing to you to let you know how we are responding and the actions we are taking to keep our colleagues, customers and community safe.
On Monday night (23rd March 2020) our Prime Minister announced new social distancing measures, which will have a profound impact on our way of life over the next few weeks, and maybe longer. Following the announcement, the government ordered all ‘non-essential’ business’ that didn’t provide essential works to critical infrastructure to seize trading and self-isolate, which would in plan, slow down and relieve pressure on the NHS.
Decisions that would usually take me weeks to make, have had to be made in a matter of hours, and I am grateful to have the full support of all our committed employees who have adapted so quickly in these incredibly difficult times.
It is with huge sadness for me to announce that as of Tuesday 24th March 2020, Thor’s Trees have paused all tree work operations until further notice.
In these unprecedented times, this is by far is the most difficult decision I have ever had to make in business, although I feel this is the most responsible direction we can take as a company. I am confident that the decisions we have taken in the past 24 hours and the measures we are putting in place will help support essential infrastructure, whilst protecting the safety and wellbeing of our customers, colleagues, community and nation as a whole.
We would like to thank all of our customers for their outstanding support and trust in us through this very difficult time and also thank our immediate clients that already have work booked in. We will be contacting you all directly over the coming days to put you on our ‘priority list’ to schedule your work back in the team diaries as soon as it is safe and advised to do so at a time that is most convenient to you.
As we address a pandemic that will no doubt become a chapter in the history books, our commitment to you will not waiver. In the last few weeks, we’ve seen generosity, kindness, intergenerational support, solidarity and remarkable fortitude as a nation. It is during times like these that courage, kindness, generosity and resilience make a huge difference.
In times of hardship, it is important to remember and take grasp of all the things are most important to us and keep positive when things seem to lead toward moments on anxiety. We must make the most of this valuable time we are spending with our family and be grateful for all the small things we have available to us.
I would like to use this time to extend my admiration to all the NHS staff, key workers and volunteers working tirelessly in keeping our nations heart beating. I am entirely grateful for the risks you are all taking, day-in-day-out saving lives whilst we stay at home, protect our NHS and save lives.
In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns or queries regarding quotes, bookings or future work. We will still be accepting and adding all enquiries to our priority list of people to schedule in works for when full operations come back into motion. Please do get in touch if you feel that your gardens could be lighter, or more spacious in places, or should you feel your trees and hedges could do with some love!
We will regularly update social media channels and will keep you informed of all further developments via email also. Please contact us for further information or assistance if required or should you have any specific requests in regard to our future visits.
Always here to help us when you need us!
