Who We Are

Founded in early 2015, Thor’s Trees are an exceptional multi-award winning tree surgeons in North London and the surrounding areas. It succeeds in bringing together the businesses vast experience and in-depth knowledge, with a friendly and personal approach.

There is no doubt that founder Lawrence-Thor Stephen strived to become an expert in his field. After completing a Forestry and Arboricultural course more than seven years ago, he started working as a tree surgeon for a local company. Two years on, he was recruited by one of the largest companies in Europe. He became one of their top climbers and was deployed to work on projects all over the UK. It was here that he continued to perfect his trade, before acting on his dream of creating a market-leading tree care service.

A strong work ethic paired with a drive to succeed, meant that just two years later, Thor’s Trees now employs a team of seven highly skilled staff. The business continues to grow from strength to strength.

Blending state-of-the-art modern techniques with traditional ones, each and every job is handled with the utmost precision and care. From the initial consultation through to completion and follow-up, the entire process is carried out seamlessly. Delivering outstanding customer service, the team are on-hand with expert advice throughout the project, as well as afterwards.

Taking on projects of all sizes, Thor’s Trees offers a wide range of services across tree surgery maintenance, tree felling and removal. The team work with a variety of clients from domestic, through to private and public sector partners, including estate agents, property management, planning development firms, and local schools.

What I love most about my role as Director at Thor’s Trees, is seeing the team grow within their roles, supporting each other through their careers and becoming better individuals within themselves every single day under the brand of Thor’s Trees.

I enjoy working for Thor’s Trees because I am able to work along side a handpicked team that equally pride ourselves in providing a quality service to customers, who in return appreciate and respect our services. Lastly, I get the opportunity to work alongside my brother on a daily basis.

Having been in the industry for over 3 years, what I love most about working here at Thor’s Trees is that I get to be alongside a young enthusiastic workforce where I can pass on my experience to the next generation. I also love it when I can put my skills toward the big complex tree removals, and helping the other arborists get to my level and above!

Being an Arborist requires highly trained and skilled workmanship. What I love most about my job is the continuous physical and mental challenges, working outdoors in all elements of weather, the adrenaline rush of climbing trees of all shapes and sizes, but finally just how unique being an arborist can be, which is why I’m so passionate about my job and want to learn and grow within Thor’s Trees.

Arboriculture and climbing are a passion of mine that I am lucky enough to be doing everyday. I enjoy working outside and seeing London from the treetops. No two days are the same at Thor’s Trees with an array of varied tree surgery projects.
Working alongside a great hard working team with the same drive, motivation and passion for arboriculture. I will continue to enjoy my career as an arborist.

What I love most about being an arborist is the constant diversity of the working environment as no two trees are the same. This pushes me to up my mental and physical game to the best of my ability. A few reasons why I love working at Thor’s Trees is that I get to work along side and extremely talented and humble team that take pride in what they do who also go above and beyond a high standard of tree care.

I believe that variety is the spice of life and no two days are the same for me. The works that we do at Thor’s Trees is very physically demanding and requires a lot of team co-ordination to operate efficiently. It is very satisfying to be part of a close-knit crew. Our positivity is infectious!

I contacted Lawrence to look at the large Eucalyptus tree in our front garden which he attended our home to inspect and offer his advice.
He inspected the tree and confirmed that the tree is sadly suffering with disease and recommend that it be reduced in size at the very minimum to prevent a situation where this tree could cause damage to the house and neighbours due to lack of strength.
Lawrence quoted me on-site and booked the job in shortly afterwards. He attended with his team and carried out the job with minimal fuss and left our property in a very clean and tidy manner.
Overall, I have to say I was very impressed with how professional Lawrence was in arranging our tree works from start to finish.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Lawrence-Thor and he will soon be carrying out further works for Central Housing Group managed properties.
